Paranoid Podcast Winter 2010

With the cold, dark conditions currently evident in the UK's bleak winter, it seems appropriate to provide a new soundtrack via the Paranoid Podcast.

The 13th and latest installment in this free podcast series is the Captive Thoughts/Surveillance State EP - a 2 track, 27 (approx) minute soundtrack to the big brother society that we reside in.

It's here...

...the Infectious Unease Radio Compilation Volume 1. A 4CD set featuring 62 uneasy listening tracks from a variety of acts from around the world. Put together by Infectious Unease Radio's Gordon Taylor in Melbourne, Australia, this compilation is second to none. If you have at least a passing interest in dark music then you will find something to enjoy here.

Having listened to the 4CD compilation in its entirety I am impressed by the quality of the music and the diversity of musical styles represented - everything from electro, EDM, industrial, rock, dark folk etc. It's an honour to have one of our tracks (Waste Train - new and exclusive!) included.

The compilation can be ordered from Dark Stereo with worldwide shipping available.

Happy New Year/Decade

Happy New Year and indeed decade paranoid people of the world! Apologies for being so quiet of late, but it has been a busy time for all of us in one way or another.

Anyway, while the blog may not have been a hive of activity, our musical projects have been somewhat more so. We have product new and old this year and will provide some more details soon. However I can reveal that I am currently in the process of mastering what will be our first retrospective compilation featuring our most loved tracks since 2004 plus a couple of new ones. The collection will be entitled 'reflections and distortions' and will be both the perfect intro and summary of our work thus far. And not only will a CD/download be available, but our first foray into non-musical merchandise will extend into the realms of an accompanying t-shirt.

Exciting times. Look out for further updates sooner rather than later! Take care all...

Back from the dead!

Hi all and apologies for the lack of updates lately, however all is well in our Paranoid world and as if to prove it, we have another free podcast queued up and ready to go.

The September podcast will be the last one for the time being (we have after all put out a new release every month for the past 12 months!!! - no mean feat!). We will be putting podcasts up a little less frequently from now on, but what a treat we have for you this time...

Another mini-album in fact. Clocking in at around the 24 minute mark, 'Enclosed' is another step further into the darkness and exhibits a startling mastery over the dark ambient genre where acoustic elements and sound manipulation combine with Cris's dark lyrical themes in an uncomparable manner.

Hear it for yourself... HERE or subscribe via the iTunes store!

Dark Grave

The Paranoid Foundation can now be found in the band directory at www.darkgrave.com - the gothic music ezine. Of course, we would hardly consider ourselves as goths or a part of any definitive scene for that matter. However, that said, we certainly do have a certain attraction to the darker side of life/music/art...

August Podcast

Since i'm going to be away for much of the summer, August comes early for Paranoid fans. The August podcast is now online and can be found in the usual places i.e. in iTunes or by clicking HERE.

It's another exclusive piece... this time a 25-minute instrumental outtake from the Paranoid 404 'Anew Design' sessions back in 2007. This project saw Cris experiment with minimal synth and electronic textures and the podcast features a brooding trip into his distinctive haunted audio atmospherics.

The August podcast is the 11th of the series. This is the penultimate edition for the time being... expect another great episode in September and then a little more infrequently from then onwards. However we are keeping ourselves very busy in other areas... expect to hear more about our ongoing activities very soon!
